The rifles from the factory of Henry Leman made a major impact on the Indian trade from 1820 thru 1850. Many Leman half-stock rifles were made under contract to the U.S. Government for trade to various Indian groups. This Leman half-stock blank lends itself to the recreation of Lemans works as well as many civilian half-stock rifles produced throughout the Midwest during the middle 1800's. Many of the 1850's era rifles built by Ohio gunsmiths could be copied using this stock. Overall length is 32"; maximum pull 15", drop 4-1/4". Barrel channel is 15-1/4"; 3/8" ramrod groove. Lock mortice is 6" wide x 1-5/8" high; butt 4-1/4" x 1-1/2". Right hand only.
