Over two thousand years ago a form of the game we know as “jacks” was played with small animal bones or pebbles. In early America the game was known as “five-stones” or “jackstones”. As time went on one of the stones was replaced by a wooden ball, then a rubber ball; and the others were replaced by small pointed metal pieces reminiscent of the original knucklebones. Ten (10) jumbo jacks cast in lead-free pewter, one (1) wooden ball and one (1) rubber ball in a drawstring pouch with a history of the game and rules for play. (No. 83314)
