These locks were often stamped "WARRANTED" near the bottom center of the plate, often the gun makers name or even the gun retailers name would appear stamped or engraved above it. These plates were also commonly decorated with stamped or engraved hunting scenes or other detail. On this lock the area has been left blank and is up to the builder to add a design. This lock is appropriate for fine and "hardware" grade rifles of the mid to late 1800's and is suitable for Indiana, Ohio, Late era Pennsylvania, New England and Southern rifles.

Polished plate measures 4-5/8" x 1" and is cut for 1/2" powder drum. Features bearing surfaced and stirrup linked forged mainspring with a short powerful stroke. Right hand. No. 42018
